It all started with a cold......... My family was gathered together at Thanksgiving, about eight years ago, and my mother had the cold. We were all drinking wine, and no one wanted to mistakenly drink out of her glass. I thought to myself—“If only we had a way to designate whose glass was whose.” After I came home from the holiday, I got to work creating my own line of custom wine charms—little rings to attach to the bottom of stemmed glasses, each with a particular charm on it, to identify individual glasses. I produced them in groups of four, along a theme: Newlyweds, Garden Lovers, Seashore, etc.
People liked them, but I realized that once I sold one or two sets, that’s really all the wine charms a person ever needs. Ah, but jewelry. . . a woman always needs more jewelry. Or at least WANTS more jewelry!I started with semiprecious stones, but it wasn’t long before I was attracted to freshwater pearls—the luster, the multitudes of colors, the versatility, the sheer beauty, the history of pearls throughout the centuries all attracted me to these oyster secretions.Since then, I have worked primarily with freshwater pearls, with my motto being “You probably wouldn’t have worn that trendy jewelry last year, and you won’t wear it next year, but people have been wearing pearls for THOUSANDS of years!”
I never make the same thing twice, so you will never see YOUR special piece on someone else. I also do a lot of custom work, and custom sizing, because not everyone has a 16” neck or a 7” wrist. I make works to fit YOU, just the way you want it, and am happy to alter already made pieces for the best fit for you. In addition, I can also do repairs, including restringing, reworking your own pieces, and replacing or altering clasps. And just in case you need wine charms, I’ve still got those in stock, too!
